Vertically Zoom waveform without resizing track
Posted by Brian Sarfatty on October 3, 2010 at 6:33 pmIs there a way to vertically zoom in on a waveform in FCP? Like the CNTR+ALT+K command in Avid?
I know about Shift T, I don’t want to resize the whole track. Just want to be able to increase the visibility of a waveform for quiet tracks while still being able to see all the other tracks at once.

October 3, 2010 at 7:37 pmAs far as I know there is not a way for that in FCP..
Write a letter to the support – maybe they will integrate this very important feature in the next version!
I suffer from this too!!

October 3, 2010 at 9:58 pmGrrr. I know in the earlier versions there was no support for this. It seems that with version 7 they added a lot of features that always existed in Avid – ex the multicolored markers, adding transitions to multiple edits at once – I was hoping they might have finally added this!

October 4, 2010 at 4:54 pmThats a bummer man – I dont understand why dont they just make a list of features they lack that other NLEs have and just correct them…
this small but important feature is not a CODE braker – its not like they have to write the hole program from scratch – I don’t understand this either…
maybe somebody @ Apple actually reads the threads here and will do something about it
I t hink you can write them as well…

October 4, 2010 at 6:23 pmIf you command click on the line in the left hand audio panel right below the track you want to enlarge, it will enlarge only that track.
Cumbersome, but it works.Joey

October 5, 2010 at 10:36 pmThe dude clearly stated that he knows that he can make the track bigger but that is not what he asked about.
FCP currently does not support this very important feature – thats a pity…

October 5, 2010 at 10:40 pmMy bad. I thought he just wanted to make 1 track bigger instead of all of them.
