  Changing project settings

  Hi

  Ive started a project where Im using 1920×1080 video shots, pictures and P2 shots with 1440×1080 res. In the end Its also going to be parts of 3D motion animation in the prosjekt.

  Initially I put my project settings to 1440×1080. Well into the project I discover that a 1920×1080 resolution will suit the project much better. Can I change the project settings now when I edited more than half of my project. How will this movie clips that initially was filmed in 1920×1080 be effected?

  Im sorry If im unclear in my quiestion. English is not my native language.

  Is this PAL DVCPRO HD? 1080 DVCPRO HD is 1280×1080…not 1440×1080.

  And since the footage is not full raster 1920×1080…but THIN raster that is stretched out (very normal for anamorphic formats…and they are common)… why do you want to switch to full raster? You won’t gain anything, as the footage is still thin raster…and you will just have to render everything when you are done.

  Try it and see. Make a new sequence 1920×1080, then copy all the tracks in your current sequence, and paste them into the new sequence. Then you’ll see the result. FCP doesn’t scale well so if you have to resize a lot of clips you may not like the results. In the future it’d be a good idea to convert all your footage to 1920×1080 first, then edit. I’d use Compressor to do that. And you’d also make your graphics the same size rather than resize them.
