XDCAM in FCP6
Posted by Laurie Gibbs on September 1, 2010 at 1:14 pmHello,
I am planning on shooting on a PMW-EX3 and editing in FCP 6.
Has anyone had any experience editing XDCAM EX in FCP 6? Does the native codec work with this version of FCP or will I have to transcode the footage before I can begin editing?
Thanks in advance,
Laurie

Unfortunately, I haven’t got the budget to upgrade at the moment. Thanks for the response though.

September 3, 2010 at 5:23 pmEX footage is supported since FC 6.0.2.
[Sachin Desai] “you can still edit it in fcp 6 only thing you want be able to do is take your timeline to color…”
No really. You can send your Time-line to Color.
What you can’t do is to import the files directly from your media HD.
With FC 7 is possible ingest the files directly without sending from FC.
