  • How to limit the Bitrate when exporting?

Posted by Markus Mueller on August 31, 2010 at 2:03 pm

Sorry if this may sound like a stupid question – but I need to export a Quicktime Mov from Final Cut Pro with a Videobitrate of 872 kBit/sec. So, I chose Export – with Quicktime – choose the H.264 Codec and set the Bitrate to 872 kBit/sec.
When I watch the exported movie and look at the information it shows me a much higher bitrate (2727 kBit/sec)…is it a bug? Or am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks in advance

How big is your video? That would be appropriate for a decent h.264 of size 640×360. If you’re going full size, perhaps that’s just beyond the ability.

I use qt conversion and usually set it at 800. The audio settings will add more.
