AE render times stink….sheesh….
Ok…so I’m not an AE newbie, but it IS my first time working with HDV footage. I told the client how to send me the green screen footage (keep it on a tripod, light it well, etc.) Well, the footage I got looked handheld at best (I won’t labor you on the sorry GS lighting). So off I go to AE and set up a track for the BG, create a BG, keylight it, do a little roto work, add a dozen or so effects over the four tracks and render the 50 second clip out. AE is telling me that it’s going to take some 9 hours to render it out!…and that’s on Gridiron time.
So the question I have is…with HDV are we back where we were in 2001 with SD? I remember those all-night render sessions on an uneffected SD timeline and unless I’m missing something it’s back to the ‘good-old days’ of all-night renders.
pffft…..at least they’re paying for the job. Ok, I’m done ranting if someone can bring me back to earth.
