Unable to create Freeze Frames
I use FCP 6. I have been creating freeze frames but now have been unable to do so. Recently got an error message about increasing the still cache. That temporarily solved the problem. Now the option to make a still image has stopped. Nothing happens.
Read in one of these posts about “trashing the preferences.” I don’t know what that means nor do I know if it will work either.
BTW, I’m running DVD Studio Pro 4. It’s encoding a 1 1/2 hr movie. I’m trying to create stills in FCP and dropped them in my DVD chapter boxes.
I own an iMac G5. Bought in 2004. No Pentium chip here my friends. Any help would be appreciated.

Do a search on how to trash prefs – u should know this.
Are ur hard drives filling Up?
Delete you unused render files and the such.
Quit FCP
Trash Prefs.
Relaunch.
Double click the clip first and then choose make freeze.Another way, Park your CTI on the frame and choose file export quicktime conversion. Choose still image.
Open that the exported still in PhotoShop first and size it for your DVD Menue buttons.

Sorry, don’t know about the trashing preferences. Did a search and managed to pull it off. I can create freeze frames now but now they have jagged edges.
What does CTI stand for?

CTI (Current Time Indicator).
If you have jagged edges you need to de-interlace them.
