    I’m running FCP 7 on a MacBook Pro (2.66 GHz, i7, 8GB of RAM).

When I try to export a 6 minute movie as a DV NTSC .mov file it gets about 20% in and crashes.

My scratch disk is an external iOmega with tons of space, connected by firewire 800.

(same thing happens when I try to render the whole sequence)

    Any ideas?

I’m pretty sure my computer should be able to handle this….

    Thanks!

May be some corrupted media or so in your time-line.
Try no rendering the sequence at once but in batches.
You will find the offending stuff.

So… it’s getting a little weirder (or maybe not)

FCP just plain crashes now if all I am doing is looking over the timeline for this piece. It seems to do fine if have the sequence set so that there are no thumbnails, but as soon as it has to generate them the program crashes.

So… this is using a different computer than the one I built the piece on, and a newer version of FCP.

Assuming that it -is- corrupted clips somewhere – what should I do?

Do I need to rebuild the whole thing?
