  Trouble Exporting Fast Shutter Speed

  Hello all,

  Trying to export some HDV footage of a baseball swing from a few different angles.

  Was shot on HDV, 29.97 fps, with a shutter speed of 1/2000.

  Looks great in FCP, but when I have exported it a few different ways, high quality mp4, high quality H.264, and a few others, I am getting some frame blending that does not look like the original footage.

  I ultimately have to get the footage into an avi format, but I figure if I can export a “clean” video first (able to stop frame by frame for an analysis without frame blending or motion blur) I can then just convert that file to avi.

  What edit codec did you use? Exactly, how did you export?

  I believe I found a work around. The client wants the video in avi format, so I dropped the footage into an NTSC 720 x 480 sequence instead of the 1080 60i and exported that avi.

  Seems to work fine. I can see frame by frame without any blurring or frame blending.

  But, if I did want to export it from the 1080 60i without any blurring or frame blending, do you have any suggestions?

  I tried mp4 with an H.264 video format, 2000 kbits/sec, image size current and frame rate 29.97. Also did it at 59.94 fps and there was a lot of pixelization (is that a word).

  Also tried H.264 with best settings and and current frame rate and size….

  Thoughts?
