transfering MXF footage from hard drive to Final Cut Pro
Hi everyone,
I have some MXF footage on an external hard drive that has come from a panasonic P2 card and I need to transfer the footage into a quicktime .mov so I can bring it into final cut pro for editing.
I have downloaded the P2 driver and tried to bring it into some converting apps such as m-peg streamclip and some others but none have worked. Does anyone know the best and easiest ways to bring MXF files into final cut? Any help would be massively appreciated.

Use Log & Transfer. Just point it to the hard drive holding your P2 data and it will transfer the selected clips to your Scratch Drive as DVCProHD. Do not destroy those original files. They are your master. If in the future you want to restore your project, you can do so with L & T and those original clips.

I hope for your sake that you have the FULL P2 card structure. If not, you have to rely on third party software solutions.

If you just copied the Video folder of .MXF files you are screwed.
