HDV importing hdv from new canon to fcp –problems
Hi. I am still having problems with importing HDV ( 60i) from my canon HV1As camcorder int fcp 7.02. in iMovie hd 6 I can import the footage seamlessly , but in FCP the footage does not import or play on the computer, even though fcp has control over the device. with easy set up at hdv 1080i60 the fcp prgraom crashes and complains about a tod plugin problem. in hdv 1080i 60i basic firewire i can see the image onin the log and capture window but it just pixelates and freeezes, even though the time code says it is running. no clips can be imported, even thbough the fcp controls the device. so basically, the camera is in 60i mode, the fcp easy install is in 60i mode, but there is no way to log and capture or to even view the video in real time in fcp.
in imoviehd 6 i can do all the above..
any suggestions?

The “tod” plugin problem is likely the problem… what plugin’s have you added? might take those away.
FWIW, the proper device control setting is HDV FW basic for that camera. Otherwise the rest of your settings sound OK.
You might trash your preferences for FCP, might fix things right up too.

I apprteciate the info.. not sure if i should uninstall fcp? if so how? or how to find the preferences and trash them.. or find the tod file.. it could be related a to a JVC GZ hd7U camera I have and installed some plug ins for it, because it uses .tod?
if you dont mind can you tell me how to find the fcp preferences and dump them, how to fond the tod plug in sand scrap it.. or any other suggestions

I found the nstod file and trashed it
