    Hi…

I’m working with FCP 7, shooting with Canon 7D and a Canon XH A1s. Here’s my Sequence Settings.

    Time Base: 29.97fps
    Frame Rate: 1440 x 1080
    Aspect Ratio: 1440 x 1080 (16:9)
Field Dominance: None <— is that OK?
    QuickTime Compressor Settings: 422(LT)

I’ve tried sending to Compressor and Playing out a QuickTime current settings, then going to Compressor for my mpe2 and audio, and in both cases when I go to DVD Pro and author a DVD I’m getting letterboxing Top and Bottom. I’ve checked and double checked to make sure I didn’t flag anything as letterbox, but I’m still getting it. It’s minor when I play the DVD on my computer, and varies a little on a couple different wide screen TVs.

    It’s making me crazy!

    HELP! 🙂

You want letterbox on a SD DVD.

    If Not?

Output Sequence current settings ref file.
    Drop into compressor.
Choose a 4X3 option in the settings. This makes a 4X3 mpeg not a widescreen.
    Then bring into DVDSP.

    Hi Chris…

    Yes, shooting 16:9 on a Canon XH A1s and Canon 7D … I’m 1440 x 1080. I’ll try the 4:3… last year when I was 720 x 480 anomorphic that worked.

Here’s my sequence setting, clip based

    Time Base: 29.97fps
    Frame Rate: 1440 x 1080 (16:9)
Field Dominance set to none <— note sure if this is right given I have mixed media
    QuickTime Compressor setting: 422 (LT)

    Thanks

    Frank
