  • Update Another Dropped Frame on capture problem

Hello and sorry if this s a re-post, please delete the earlier one as this is an update.

I am running Final Cut Pro 6.0.6 and trying to capture from Canon XM2. A 1tb hardrive that I am using as the skratch and capture destination. It runs at 420Mbits/sec which I have read is fast enough(?)

I have Mac OS X 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4GB Memory 1067 MHz DDR3 and using the firewire cable from 400 to 800 for capture.

I am/was getting ‘dropped frames during last capture message’ I then disabled this to continue capturing. I am now getting “Capture uncounted a problem reading the data on the source tape. This could be a problem with the tape. Capture has been aborted and clip has been saved”.

I am getting really desperate, any help please?

    Regards

    S

Keep your posts together. It’s much easier to track.

You need separate your FireWire devices. Get a fw express/34 card and attach your fw drive to that, then attach your deck to the computer fw port.
