    Hi,

I’m editing a multicam shoot shot on HDCAM which has benn captured at ProRes (HQ) and then media managed to ProRes Proxy so I can run all streams simultaniously.

I’m using smoothcam now and then in my Proxy cut and at times its working wonders. Problem is then when I come to relink to ProRes HQ and set about re-exporting the clips I want to smoothcam and then copying the effect onto these new clips, I get jittery unusable results. Now I’m assuming that this is due to the increased details in flickering lights (its a live music performance) which is throwing smoothcam’s analysis. So my question is, is it possible to somehow refer these new clips to the original analysis (.mdtf) files that were created when the Proxy versions were analysed? I tried putting them in the same folder with the same name, but no joy, anyone got a clever work around for this?

    cheers in advance

    s.

Another thing I should perhaps add is that my ProRes HQ files are 50i. I’ve been reading that Smoothcam works better on progressive movies – does Proxy throw away a field to increase compression? This might explain why I get worse results on my HQ footage…
