  mini DV capture problem

  Hi,

  I have Final Cut 6.0.4. on my Mac Book Pro. Trying to capture mini DV using a Sony DV/HDV recording deck. When trying to start log and capture, it says it cannot initialize the deck. This is when I have it set on Firewire NTSC. When I have the deck set as HDV, I can control the deck from my FCP, but I still can’t capture the tape, probably because it is mini dv, not hdv. What is wrong?

  Did you try using an easy setup?

  Make sure ur deck is set to output DV and NOT HDV.
  Then shut down comp and deck.
  Then turn on deck. Boot up comp.
  Launch FCP.
