I have an interview with footage in two formats, DVCProHD1080p30 and XDCAM HD422 1080p30, that need to be integrated together in one timeline, what is the best way to set up this timeline? should I use compress to put these raw files into the same format? Should I convert everything to Apple ProRes? Also 80% of the footage is XDCAM and the other 20% is DVCProHD. Any help appreciated, thanks

[Christopher Targia] “what is the best way to set up this timeline?”

Either convert one format to the other (convert the XDCAM to DVCPRO HD), or better yet, use a PRORES timeline for both. And either convert both to this format (if you have the time and space), or just use the ProRes timeline and render when done.

I’m with Shane. Having both footage the same time base, the best solution is drop them in a Prores sequence.
