  Changing opacity on fade transitions

  Hi there,

  I am trying to run back-to-back fade-in fade-out transitions, so that shots fade from and back into black. I have no problem doing this. What I do have a problem with is adjusting the fade so that it begins JUST BEFORE the shot, as opposed to running with black for a while. If I change the duration of the fade, this simply means the shot comes too quickly into focus, defeating the object.

  So, what I want is to cut the fade, or change its entry opacity value, so as to remove the excess black at the beginning and end.

  Instead of applying a fade trans – keyframe it urself

  Use the pen tool on the layer itself. Make sure you have clip overlays turned on. (Option W)
