  dvcpro hd to sd conversion problem

  hey everybody,
  so here’s my problem.. i edited this spot as dvcprohd 1080i60 29.97… just how it was shot.. everything went smoothly but now i need to make an sd version.
  i have a blackmagic extreme card and i was planning to convert the footage to our usual sd digibeta layback format blackmagic uncompressed 10 bit 29.97. (i have to lay this to tape)

  so i exported the footage “as is” from my hd sequence and placed it on my bm uncompressed 10 bit sequence and resized to do a center cut. i’m getting this very noticeable flicker with movement on my ntsc monitor… when i import the clip into fcp a shift fields filter is added automatically but none of the different settings seem to help.

  i tried converting to uncompressed 10bit in compressor but not much difference was achieved… is there a proper way to do this conversion?

  Why are you doing this? You do know that your capture card can downconvert in real time as you output, right? Fast, good quality…no conversion time.
