    Hi,

how do I burn an AVCHD disc after FCP has rendered my h264 AVCHD and ac3 files, using Share and ‘burn to BLuRay disc’?
Although the manual says I will be prompted to insert a disc and it will burn it, it didn’t. I’m on FCP 7.0.2 with a standard built in DVD burner.

    Thank you!

This is a job for Compressor not FCP. If you have the files in the formats like AVCHD and ac3 you should not be in FCP.

If you want to burn a Blu-Ray disk, you need a Blu-Ray burner. Either you would replace the DVD burner in your Mac, or you’d buy an external FW or USB burner.

No you can burn an avchd disc on red laser media (you are limited to 20 mins on DVD-5 approx). There’s a tutorial on kenstone.net I think that walks you through it!
