I’m coming on to clean-up the offline of a feature. It was cut in FCP 6. Shot 35 – transferred to HDCAM – ingest at dv 23.98. I work in FCP 7.
When I update the project file and reconeect the media some of the clips related audio (I’d say 10% of the film) is sped up by variable rates from 200%-300%. Just the audio not the picture. What’s even more odd is that the actual subclip (it was subclipped when sunk) is sped up as well. Now, when I go to the source audio .wav files they are fine.

I do have fcp 6.0 on my laptop so I opened up the file with that to compare. The audio plays fine, but all the problem audio clips are set to (variable). No idea, what really that even means in this instance.

If it was just a timeline issue I’d spend a couple hours and manually reset the audio back to 100%. But it effects the whole subclip which means I would need to go back and resink a ton of the footage. Not appealing. Any thoughts?
