  FCP cannot open files in the “Final Cut Pro XML File” format

  I “sent” a sequence to Soundtrack Pro 3 for a mix. I then exported with the after export open in FCP sequence option selected.

  When it’s complete I get the error: The document “mastermix.xml” could not be opened. Final Cut Pro cannot open files in the Final Cut Pro XML File” format.”

  Is this a joke?

  I’ve done this as both mono track and stereo mix.

  These are the steps in the Soundtrack Pro User Manual.

  Guidance Appreciated.

  OK….

  I just went into FCP and Import XML chose the mastermix.xml file and it worked.

  And now FCP is totally unstable and crashing when I do import the XML.

  It creates another sequence with the old tracks disabled (as the UM says it does) Start working with it and it crashes.
