  Frame drops HD video

  Hey,

  I’m using HD video for the 1st time on my macbook pro. Whenever I put the clip on a timeline I get a frame drop message every 5 sec and am unable to playback.

  Was wondering if anybody could offer suggestions and/or solutions.

  Spec as follows
  FCP 6
  osx 10.6
  processor 2.53 ghz intel core 2 duo
  memory 4 gb 1067 MHz DDR3
  Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M

  Your hard drive is not fast enough. You don’t give details on the video you’re trying to edit, but I can hardly think of an HD codec that would work for editing off your 5400rpm system drive.
