exported video leaves a motion trail
ook here’s what happens i have the video imported from avchd camera in fc (express) and then i put them on the timeline.. and export, all is well exept for this major motion trail type problem, it appears like … the image is doubled when movement happens, it is very annoying.. but i can put a picture if that will help.. i have no idea how.. but thanks 🙂 joe

Sounds like you have the field order set wrong…
Post the exact properties of the source clips (just select one and type cmd+9. What is the field order in it? and does it match the sequence’s settings? if not that’s the problem.

See what happens if you select the sequence preset to match… or to none if it appears to already match.

well, on the actual timeline it appears with no problems at all, but I have it set to apple intermediate codec 720p , it doesn’t have a match setting.

Is the source footage the same setting as the sequence. Check that they are the same. If both are 720p30 or 1080p 29.97 you shouldn’t be seeing a problem. The AIC codec isn’t the best BTW… you’d be better off importing the AVCHD files through the log and transfer tool in FCP. It becomes ProRes then.

ok awesome! i hope this works, I’ll try making it the better codec.. but i don’t think final cut express has that.. i should get pro some time ..
