  Is there a function in Final Cut pro to see a grid or thirds in the canvas or viewer?

  Any grid of some sort in Final Cut Pro to make shots straight or something that shows where an exact third is?

  Digital Heaven, maker of very cool FCP plug-ins, has a couple of freebies, including one or two that will do what you need:

  I can’t remember if it’s DH Grid or DH Guides, but one of them (maybe both) will get the job done.

  And did I mention they’re free?

  In case someone still needs a grid to see thirds:

  The grids by Digital Heaven are good for making shots straight and stuff like that, but they do not provide thirds.

  SOLUTION: So I had this exact same problem and developed a pretty clever/easy way to get gridlines lol.
