Ye old export problems.
Hi everyone.
I have been looking at the Cow for a while now and though there are many useful comments and answers I haven’t been able find a solution to my problem.
If there is a topic on this problem I would appreciate a redirect.Ok first things first.
I use a 2.33 Ghz intel core2 duo Macbook pro with 2 gb 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM.
I run Final cut studio 3 with Final cut pro version 7
Quicktime Pro version 7.6.6
My cam for this project is the Go Pro Hero HDMy workflow so far is this.
Shot some footage at 1280x720p, 16:9 @ 60 fps60. Mpeg 4 movie file in H.264 and AAC.
“Captured” it to my desktop. Played it on QT and it looked awesome, well as awesome as you could expect from this kind of cam.
Then I used compressor to convert the footage into Apple ProRess 422 HQ progressive with AAC.
Imported this into FCP and it still looked good.
Made my edits and exported it as a QT ref movie with same settings chosen and unchecked make movie self contained.
Then imported in compressor and used the vimeo.com guideline to set up compressor. The result was this:https://vimeo.com/11303760Not so impressing as before when it was just an mpeg 4 file or the ProRess file. The movie gets sort of pixelated when there is movement an thats not the point of a helmet cam. By the way I have see very impressive Go Pro HD footage on the web.I the tried to export from FCP using quicktime conversion with an h.264 with current framerate and a keyframe at every 30 frames, limited to 5000 kbits/sec optimized for download, on best quality, size set to match my clip. and multi pass chosen. Dimensions set to 1280×720 HD preserve aspect ratio and de-interlaced unchecked. Sound is AAC 128 bit at 44.100 khz
But this did not sort my problem as the file still looks pixelated and blurry.I have tried to play the file on both VLC and QT pro(with use high quality when available enabled) with same result.
I have also tried viewing the online file on both PC and MAC in a variety of different browsers. So now for my question. What am I doing wrong? Can anyone se where in my workflow i make the mistakes and if so steer me in the right direction?
I you should need more info please just let me know!Any help will be very much appreciated!!
Best regards
Steffen
