Combine two images
Hi all,
I’m having the issue that combine two images as one picture. both images are shot without greenback. I wonder if it’s possible to combine/mix two images in editing process of FCP.
This might too easy to solve for you guys, but I don’t know how to..
any suggestion?Thank you so much,

You mean GREEN SCREEN, right? How can you combine two shots, like a guy in one location, and you want to put him in another location…the other footage, right? Well, if you don’t green screen, that means a LOT of rotoscoping work. And FCP isn’t the best app for that. It is a non-linear editor, not a compositor. For that you’d be looking at After Effects. Motion, OK, but AE would be better.

Yes, I meant green screen. what I wanted to do is both are shots at same location, and both shots are exactly same framing. one is a guy standing in left side of frame, and other one is a guy standing in right side, and 2 guys( a same guy) are shown in a frame as a final image.
this seems too much task for me.. -
Ah…in that case you can try to use what is called a DIFFERENCE matte. Stack the footage on top of each other in the timeline, and then on the top layer, right click, choose COMPOSITE MODE and then choose DIFFERENCE. Might not be clean though…best o green screen.

You put one shot over the other and use the crop in the motion tab to make a split screen. If you don’t understand what I just told you, refer to your manual.
