Final Cut Pro HDV footage problem

I’m having a problem with my HDV footage and hopefully you all could help me out. I shot on a Sony HVR-Z1U, edited in FCP and burned my .mov file to a dvd with the intention of playing it on a projector. My sequence settings are set for HD (1440×1080) (16:9) with the PAR set to HD (1440×1080), with the compressor set to HDV 1080i60. Now when I render out and check the mov file it states: Dimensions 1440×1080, codecs: Interger (little indian), HDV 1080i60, everything seems to check out just fine… and here is my problem.
When i use IDVD to burn the footage it prompts me to choose an aspect (either 4:3 or 16:9) I choose 16:9. I take the dvd and play it on a projector but the image is identified as 4:3 with terrible pillarboxing >_<. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Should i be using DVDstudio pro, is it the projector or the dvd player that has the problem? What are the best settings for my mov file when i burn it to DVD? And finally is all this caused by the "rectangular pixel" issue associated with HDV? Any help is greatly appreciated thanks so much in advanced!!

You should use DVDSP rather than iDVD. If you search this forum and the DVDSP forum, you’ll find all your answers.
