I have a DPX sequence rendered from Color, witch is acting up a bit!
They work fine in color and aja DPX to QT.
But in final cut, when i play the clip it looks like this (See attached picture) and when i pause it goes black. In QuickTime the DPX’s won’t play back at all.
If i hide final cut and then open it again, the frame looks fine, but then after half a second it turns back as it is on the screen-shot

I have tried turning off “Clone Source Header” in the DPX Export pane, as some post here suggested.

    Thanks in advance!

NOTE: The left side of the picture continues in the right

There is a user setup error.
your files do not match your seq settings.

I would recommend that you set up your machine to handle the DPX frames and not move between projects without re-booting FCP if you are changing between differing format configs.

    Thanks for your answer Gary.

I have tried to import the DPX sequence to an empty timeline, and let final cut make the settings, and make the settings my self, without any luck.

EH? Final Cut cant do that by itself.

You are going to have to create the seq settings from scratch if you are not using a tool such as Glue Tools Cineon/DPX Pro Plugin for FCP.

The best trick if not is to use the built in AJA settings and the 2 free aja utilities for handling 10bit UC files as log or lin . They allow you to take DPX files and place them in a QT wrapper for playback inside of FCP.
Note that the max size for frames in FCP is 2048 x 1556 (anamorphic).

Where did the DPX files come from and what is the actual size of each frame?

    I am using gluetools.

The size is about 10mb and the resolution is 1920×1080.
They have been rendered from color as DPX’s, with floating point Bit Depth.

I have tried to let Final cut create the sequence, and i have created it my self from scratch. I’m off for easter, so i can’t, at the moment, upload a screenshot of the sequence settings.
