I’m having an issue that seemingly popped up overnight on my tower. When exporting WMV files from FCP, I will get what seem to be random points of very bad pixelation. I say seem to be random becuase if I try to re-output the file, the pixelation occurs at the same points in the video.

This is not limited to some of my exports, but all.

I also have a macbook pro. If I transfer the files to that machine and output, I get no issues at all.

    Any thoughts?

On an unrelated but maybe related note, my version of serenson squeeze on that same tower also has output problems.

    Could it be the codecs?
    Thanks
    Chris

If you are using Flip4Mac for wmv functionality you might trash its prefs, or try reinstalling it. Something’s unhappy. Have you been able to export good-looking wmvs on the tower before? You might also try running Disk Warrior, and then repair permissions.
