    Hi,
I was digitizing hdv material using Sony hdv portable deck and final cut through fire wire 800.Idea was to capture the entire tape in one go but as I did that, final cut has made 6 separate clips out of the entire video.between each consecutive clip there is gap of 5 to 6 seconds of time code.eg first clip starts from 01:01:00:00 and ends at 01:08:09:05 then the next clip starts at 01:08:15:19.
I had unchecked on “make new clip on start/end” on capture window settings before the start of the capture. Then I disabled all the options from user preferences which could abort capture(like abort capture on dropped frames etc). I recaptured the entire tape again but result was the same. new clips made by fcp have same starting and end time code as was previously. When I looked in lcd of the deck at those points from where the fcp makes new clips the time code read fine(unbreaked). I tried doing batch capturethe entire tape and result was no different.I dont think there is timecoad breakes in the tape.
Wondering what it could be ?
