    Hi gang,

I just converted to FCP 7 and am noticing some audio scrubbing issues with a few tracks on the timeline. FCP has no problem scrubbing the music track on 7&8 but is not scrubbing my dialog on 6. I thought if i moved the dialog to another track it would fix it, not the case. The dialog doesn’t scrub on any track. I recorded the dialog using QT10, not the VOICEOVER feature in FCP. I usually record in a booth, but am using someone else’s setup for this project and don’t have access to the studio I normally use.

I had recorded an earlier scratch track using QT10 a few days before and had no issues. This time around, I transcoded the audio using Itunes to make it a mono track, because QT10 was recording a stereo track and required rendering if I added compression or EQ to the dialog track. I’m stumped.

Any suggestions? I trashed preferences but that did nothing. I feel this could be an issue with the Itunes transcode I did on the dialog. When I look at the formatting of the dialog, it matches the music encode (48k, 16bit-integer, stereo) except the dialog is mono, not stereo.

    All the best,

    Will

it seems to be related to the COMPRESSOR i’m using on the dialog. never had a problem before scrubbing audio with compression added. when i turn the plugin off, i can scrub. makes no sense.
