Just an FYI if it helps anyone.

I had read a few posts here but they were unconfirmed.

ProRes LT quicktimes work with fcp 6.03 (6.05 was thought to be the minimum)

but you MUST have a minimum of quicktime 7.6.2 installed.

also if you have the ProRes read codec for PC, quicktime 7.62 is required.

Ah, but does FCP have SEQUENCE SETTINGS that will work for this? Will it automatically make a ProRes LT timeline?

I tried this when FCP 7 came out. I was able to play back, but when it came to rendering…which requires writing in the ProRes LT codec…it did not work.

It won’t. there are easy setups but they don’t work.

I just rendered it as prores hq.

good to know if your in a pinch and don’t have fcp 7

ProRes HQ? Why are you doing that? Just use regular ProRes. Rendering LT to HQ is quite pointless, and will only take up more space.

true. I was in a hurry. I have a 12TB framestore, so no biggie. 🙂
