still image file size changes on reconnect media
so I’m working on FCP 6.0.6 with OS 10.5.8
I’ve edited a really long sequence of still images that I don’t want to have to recreate, but I brought them in at the wrong aspect radio (4368×2912). so I created a new folder of images with the correct aspect radio and correct size (1920×1080) and tried to reconnect media to these new files. when it replaces it it brings it in and it’s too small and appears like a small square frame centered in the image, but it’s info in the browser matches the timeline (both read 1920×1080 and both have square pixels).
any thoughts?

If the sequence is edited, why do this?

are you suggesting I should resize when I export? I want to relink to the new files because the current files don’t fit the frame of the current sequence. They are a different aspect radio, closer to 4:3, leaving black along the sides… here’s an image (although when I export it as a still it smushed it as well…weird (i think it’s a pixel aspect ration thing that I’m not getting).

Well of course the aspect is all wrong because you have changed the size and ratio. FCP remembers the settings from when the files had totally different aspects and sizes, so you will have to go through and change the distort and motion settings.
If you had keyframed moves they will all be wrong as well as they were based on the old sizes.

I see. You didn’t edit in a 1920×1080 timeline. You are going to have to resize manually I’m afraid.
