Hi, I’m not sure that Automatic duck will solve this, but I have noticed the clip in and out points in an Avid EDL which don’t match the clip metadata for the footage I have from the cards that have been supplied ot me.

In the Avid edl, all the clips start at a zero hour value (and sometimes minute value) like 00:00:12:06 whereas the metadata for the clips from the cards have a continuous in and out point for example:

    Clip-A is In: 01:10:21:00 Out: 01:10:47:00 and
    Clip-B is 01:10:46:00 Out: 01:11:33:00

Which leads me to think the Avid capture discarded all the metadata and started each clip at 00:00:00:00.

Is there a way to clear the meta data of the captured clips in FCP to relink to the Avid EDL?

Hmm, I’m not sure, this was edited a long time ago and brought to the UK from France by the director, it’s is unlikely he’ll be able to give me those answers. Is it possible that if they captured from the cards direct they could have zero’ed the metadata? If so, is it possible to do that in FCP so I can match there EDL?
