FCP Studio 2 and MacBook Pro Compatibility Issue – Thanks!
I have a MacBook Pro 2.16 Core Duo with 2GB RAM. Been editing with FCP 5.x for some time with no problem. Bought FCP Studio 2 with FCP 6 about May last year, but did not have room to put it on until I recently upgraded my HD. I bought it mainly for my desktop, but now that I have the larger HD, decided to upgrade on the laptop. Now, I tried to open FCP and got a warning that said: “Final Cut Pro requires that your system have a Quartz Extreme capable video card. This configuration is not supported. The software will not function properly with your current system configuration.” (I will try to upload the message as well). Any ideas of a work around? I guess I can uninstall and reinstall the old stuff, but such a headache and in a bit if a time crunch. Is there a way to force FCP to open so I can do some simple editing, not so worried about the playback functionality (if that is what the video card compatibility is referencing). Look forward to any suggestions. Thanks!
Buck
