  Drop-Down Edit Menu Disappears

  Recently, I noticed that my drop-down edit menu at the top of Final Cut Pro (Version 6) wasn’t there. Not really a huge deal, because I pretty much just use shortcuts anyway. But still, I was interested to know why this was happening. After resetting my preferences, upon starting up FCP, the Edit Menu was there again. So, I played around and noticed that whenever I open up any of the Text Editing functions, either regular Text or Boris 3D Text, the Edit Menu disappears.

  Now, instead of having to trash my preferences, I can just close and reopen FCP, and the Edit Menu comes back. But, open up a Text editor and it goes away again.

  Any thoughts as to why this is happening and how to fix it?

  If you already trashed prefs, I would reinstall FCP.
