February 15, 2010 at 11:05 pmConnected via? What kind of monitor? If it lacks the proper controls, this will be challenging. People have suggested using a blue filter…but I’m not sure as to what the number of that filter is.

February 15, 2010 at 11:07 pmWhat type of monitor and is the source from a video card (not graphic card) there are blue filters that you can look through to give you a blue gun effect. I even have a pair that are like the cheap 3D paper glasses. I used them on a Standard TV way back when, before I got a grade 1 CRT. It the TV to an okay place for casual CC.

That only works if the monitor you are trying to calibrate is a DVI computer monitor.

Wratten 47B, aka SMPTE Blue.
A Lee 3″x3″ 47B polyester filter is about $14 at B&H or Filmtools.
For procedure, see for example https://hd-cinema.blogspot.com/2008/06/hd-monitor-calibration.html.

Yes, your right! I made a presumption that (using Cinema display) is what was going on here. MXO2 has a blue only, that might work. Might not be as good as a calibrated monitor, but better than nothing.Scott Sheriff
