    Hi,
I get two kind of videos from our graphic and animation dept.first QT video of some animated sketches(codec animation, rgb+alpha). second QT video of a guy talking(shot on green screen keyed on AE,output as QT codec animation RGB+ alpha).

I have to put these two Qt videos over each other(timeline setting animation on FCP 6.5), put a background below, do some color correction on the guy’s video and output it as a sd dvd.

After doing all this when I render the timeline my video becomes blurry and dull.I tried exporting it through compressor without rendering the timeline the result is better but not as desired. what do I do ?

While it’s fine to use the Animation codec in a sequence for keying, the sequence should be in a different codec like ProRes. If you are editing in a sequence set to the DV codec the quality degradation is probably because of that limited codec. On export, you’re turning all your high-quality graphics into DV.

    Hi john,
Thanks for your suggestions.I have tried prores sequence as well but result is not better.I have tried exporting my timeline as Qt mov using different codecs(uncompressed, none, prores, animation, Sorenson3) but that blurriness is still there. plus there is remarkable change in skin tone
in all the QT mov of different codecs.
    I don’t understand this.
