How do you export a full-quality quicktime HD movie from FCP 6.0?
This seemed to be easier in the past. I don’t want to compress the video of loose any quality from the master. But I want to break the media up into several smaller clips so I can run the smoothcam filter on many individual segments, not the entire master media. (When I apply the smoothcam filter in fcp, it seems to run against the whole master media, even if I just apply it to a small clip thereof in the timeline).

OH, you mean the MASTER clips, not from the sequence itself.

Make subclips of all the media you want to smoothcam. Then Media Manage those using the COPY method, and delete unused. Then bring the new clips back in, and there you go.
