  AE CS3 Problem report (do you have ’em?)

  Hi, We”ve been using CS3 in a fast turn around TV production on both PPC and intel macs.

  Here’s what we found wrong so far… anybody else?

  1. Field render issues. About once a week we get a render that’s missing 2 to 3 fields throughout the render. Upper field is there lower not. This seems to be random on different machines different aep files. It is totally repeatable AND unsolvable (within AE).

  2. Out of memory errors reported when there’s lots of free ram available. kinda like a leak. Solved only by relaunch. purge does nothing to stop the errors.

  3. PSD imports. Randomly (it seems) single psd files are seen as a seq… no matter how you import them. Not a huge deal but a PITA in the timeline.

  4. JSX’s randomly do not apply to layers. Same with using bridge.

  5. Maybe we just don’t get it but the H.264 export seems to make HUGE files in comparison to other apps using same settings.

  Other than that AE screams on intel macs.
