my video has the on-board camera audio. i have dual-system audio.
i sync it all up with the slate.how do i “marry” the new audio with the video?
subclip?i want the new audio attatched to the source so i can multiclip takes,
and have the good audio.*hope that makes sense

January 18, 2010 at 1:28 amfrom what ive gathered, you can not merge a video clip that already has audio
(which mine does)does this mean i have to do another step and strip out all my unusable “camera” audio?

January 18, 2010 at 1:51 amLine up the new audio in sync with the original video clip and its audio. Then, unmerge the original audio & video and then merge the new audio with the video.

that works ok when working in the sequence, but what if you have this scenario.
you have 3 camera angles re-linked with your sync audio and now you want to
use the multicam feature. when you do a match frame, it pulls the orginal audio
into the preview, not your new sync.i think merge is the feature i want, but when i select the video & new audio for sync,
merge isn’t an option (greyed out)shawn
ps
i did read the other posts in the cow about this, but didnt’ seem like i could
find the easiest resolution.thanks again!

January 18, 2010 at 2:43 amHey Shawn
I can’t seem to duplicate your problem here …. for reference, I select both a video clip and an audio clip in the browser, right click (ctrl click) that selection and choose Merge Clips… from the context menu, seems to work fine. What are the steps you are taking when trying to merge your new audio with video?

January 18, 2010 at 3:03 amis this feature to be done on a bin level as opposed to the sequence?
maybe thats my issue, although i would image it would work both ways.hMMm
thanks for your input

January 18, 2010 at 4:28 amexactly .. should be done a bin level, just as you would for creating a multiclip … it creates a new “merged” clip item which you use thereafter

January 18, 2010 at 4:49 amso i tried that method (*on a bin level) and ‘merge’ in the menu is still not available
1st- found the audio file & selected
2nd- found the video file & selected
3rd- go to modifyattached is a screen grab….
i feel like such a noob!!
