Hi. I’m trying to print an HDV 1080i60 sequence to video on my Canon Vixia HV30 camcorder but I can’t get FCP 6.0.5 to recognize the device as a video playback option– all the HDV playback options are greyed out. I’m using the HDV 1080i60 easy setup.

I have successfully captured with this camera today, and there is no problem communicating with the camera as a capture device. I have been reading in the forums that it’s impossible to view HDV footage on an external monitor without a capture card, but does this apply to cameras also? A few weeks ago I was able to print an HDV sequence to video via firewire 400 (on the same computer- Macbook Pro) using a Sony HVR-M15U deck, monitoring through RCA to an SD monitor with no problem. (I realize it wasn’t full quality, but it was helpful to monitor anyway.)

Any advice is very much appreciated- thanks!
