seemingly simple effect i can’t seem to duplicate
At the Qualcomm developer’s conference this year the video screens had a neat feature, one I’ve see in other place, and have had a hard time duplicating with any real success.
You can see samples here:
https://brew.qualcomm.com/brew/en/press_room/events/brew_2007/pres_video_02.html#gs
the first video link for Opening on the General session. The first 3 seconds of video show what I am talking about, the rest is all performers.
Its hard to get a real sense of the swoopy rollercoaster feel this graphics has from this clip…Here is another sample of the same look, but static print stuff:
https://brew.qualcomm.com/brew/brew_2007/I can create the lines in Illustrator, that’s pretty easy, but when it comes to animating them they totally loose their feel of 3d space and twists, and the slow swoopy kinda rollercoaster effect is totally lost…
Is this maybe not after effects I should be looking at to do this?
I think its similar effect to the 3D flat lines that seem to hit corners, climb a bit, and then take off at another angle, from another invisible angle… Lifetime did something like this for a while on its ID clips. Or maybe it was TLC. I wish I could find a clip to show…
Anyway, thanks for any advice, and to all of CreativeCow, thanks to all the help you’ve given me over the years, even if you didn’t know it (because I just found the answer in a previous post!).
Thanks!
Brian
