RED job. Transcoding to ProResHQ, 2048×1152 via Log & Transfer.

Footage comes up in garbled green & pink blocks in the viewer and on 2048×1152 timelines. Comes out fine from Kona 3 card. Both machines are 10.5.8 with Nvidia 7300GT cards. Machines with ATI and 8800GT don’t have the problem….

I saw mention that a video card with less that 512MB RAM may cause problems? (7300GT is 128MB) Seem like the video card can’t raster the size to fit the viewer…

    Any clues or thoughts?
    MacPro 3.0 Ghz (2,1)
    Kona 3
    FCP 6.0.6
    OS 10.5.8
    QT 7.6.4

FCP likes ATI cards…as does color. Avid likes NVIDIA. Time to get ATI cards in those other machines…

Guhhh…. don’t you know it. I’ve never liked Nvidia in the Mac. These have been solid editing machines up until this particular problem…. we bought them used for a great deal a year ago.

any other solutions? I’ll swap some gear tonight, but we have clients coming in early. would be great if I didn’t have to play Engineer Scott tonight.
