    heey guys.

I’ve made some 3D objects in Zaxwerk invigorator pro, and now i have abit of a problem.
when you see this you know what i mean : https://www.flickr.com/photos/ultimatebart/972449905/

it’s just a test so that you guys can see what i mean.

thats me frisbeen with a 3D frisbee, and i’ve but a speaker with a 3D conus that reacts on the beat of a song(with trapcode soundkeys).

now, layermapping in Zaxwerk doesn’t give me the fine edge look, it’s still looks “fake”.

I can use look/color presets or color correction/curves etc, that will help and that looks good. but the edges stil make it very fake.

any ideas how to blend this nice?

    Thanxs

As far as I can tell the problem is two fold.

    1) The colors of the composited 3D elements do not look correct. It sounds like you’ve already found your way around this.

    2) The edges should be slightly blurred. I would recommend trying a Matte > Simple Choker on the layer and choking it down just a bit (1 or 2), then applying Blur & Sharpen > Channel Blur and blur the Alpha Channel just a bit (1 or 2). There are other methods for getting the edges to fit better, but this is the first one that jumps to mind.

All that said, I think problem number 1 is much more important to resolve effectively than problem number 2 for the best results.

Another thing is perspective. You need to match it as our brains will pick that up straight away and currently the speaker looks like we’re looking up at it and it’s 20m tall. Rotate it so it matches correctly. Also, there is no shadow giving you that harsh-unreal edge where the speaker sits on the pavement.

Add all this stuff together and you’ll get a lot closer.

You might also want to add some grain that matches that of your original footage, that helps alot.
