A strange one – looking for ideas… thanks!

    Setup:
    FCP 7
    Mac OS 10.6.2
    Sony Firewire Deck HVR-M15U
    HDV 1080i footage on tape

    Video is captured properly.

Trouble with audio capture. Two scenarios:

    1) when clip audio capture settings are set to MONO (2 discreet channels), only 1 track of audio is captured (instead of the two that exist on the tape). Both channels of audio are selected and active in the clip settings window.

    2) when clip audio capture settings are set to STEREO (linked stereo pair), the clip is not logged at all. I set in/outs, name the clip, and when I hit log clip, nothing happens – it does not appear as an uncaptured clip in the browser, it simply does not appear anywhere. This occurs regardless of where the logging bin is set.

Important note – this entire system is new. New mac tower, new OS, new version of FCP. I have done testing on other systems in my office to ensure that the deck, cable and tapes are operating normally.

    Ideas?

    Thanks again!

    That solved the mystery.

    Thank you, Jeremy!
