  Playhead / Canvas Weird Issue…

  Hi fellas, I’m having a little issue…hope you guys can help me figure it out.

  Right now I’m working with some Canon 5D Mark II footage. I transcoded the footage using Cineform Neo Scene. I loaded up a few clips on the timeline and I noticed that even though the play head is not on a clip, I see a clip playing in the canvas window. See attached screencap:

  I’m running Mac 10.6.2
  Final Cut Pro 7.0.1

  Any ideas what may be causing this?

  Maybe check your video settings — If you’ve created a custom setting it can affect that. My viewer displays the last frame of video I had my playhead on until I move it to a new frame of video even if I’m hovering over an empty spot on the timeline; just how I have it set up personally. You might also try using an easy set-up option. I’d first try reseting your video settings to default–that will probably do it; if that doesn’t work, use the easy set-up option that most closely matches what you’re doing. I imagine that the problem is originating in the video display settings. If it turns out to be a larger problem, might be something with the playback speed, but you would probably have noticed that by now.
