  trying to use a canopus ADVC110 to capture video from mini dv

  I am trying to log and capture video using Final Cut pro.
  I am going form a sony mini dv through a canopus ADVC110 into an imac. (i am coming out of the canopus 6 pin plug and into my imac firewire 800) I can only capture one clip at a time. after i capture the clip the canopus device makes me toggle from analog to digital and back again before i can capture another clip. Otherwise it will only capture 16 frames and stops itself. saying capture now has reached end of tape….Any ideas?

  Connect the DV camera directly to FCP via firewire. You don’t need anything else but straight firewire to capture DV.
