Compressor and Boris’ RED transitions
Greetings!
Ever since I upgraded to FCP7 and Snow Leopard, I no longer can get Boris’ RED transitions onto my DVDs or Blu Ray DVDs.
While the transitions play normally in FCP’s Timeline, when I watch the DVD after using “Share” the transitions are no longer there. As a matter of fact, instead of the transitions there are frozen frames instead.
One solution to this problem offered in this Forum was to make a QuickTime movie, bring it into a new project and then burn the DVD from there using “Share.” That works, but it is time consuming.
Neither Boris nor FCP tech support could recreate the problem and obviously could not offer a permanent solution so that the process would not need the intermediate step of making the QuickTime movie.
Still trying to see if I could find where the problem is, and hope that Apple could fix it, I followed suggestions from Apple’s FCP tech support and sent a sequence directly to Compressor from FCP.
Loaded those files in the software to burn DVDs that come with FCP and when I looked at the imported files in that program, the transitions were already removed and frozen frames have replaced part of them.
It seems to be obvious that the problem is with Compressor, which is not processing the RED transitions.
I hope that tech support from Boris, as well as from FCP read this post and would now be able to find a solution to the problem.
I can not believe that my Mac is creating the problem since everything was working fine before.
Hope this post helps FCP people find a solution.
