  adding effects to file

  Stupid question I guess but I can’t seem to add effects (downloaded from creative cow) into my after effects folder. I put them in”c:\program files\adobe\adobe after effects cs3\support files\plug-ins\effect” but they never show up.
  What am I doing wrong?

  Effects? Do you mean plugins, .aex files? Where on the cow can you download plugins, oh boy, oh boy! Me wants.

  Are you dropping them in the folder when AE CS3 is shutdown? If it’s running you won’t see the effects until you restart AE.

  Do you mean Presets, .ffx files. If so drop them into the presets folder. Then access them by, Animation>Apply Animation Preset.

  I’m guessing we’re talking about Animation Presets here, in which case you should follow mike’s (yikes!) suggestion (;
