Hi folks — can someone advise me?
I am cutting a short I did that is a parody of a commercial. I’d like the opening to be a sequence that shows the other “products” offered by this fictional company.

IDVD and DVD STUDIO PRO (2) both have great menus that would accomplish this for me. Is there a way to import a finished menu into my FCP time-line? The buttons wouldn’t go anywhere — I’d like it just to be a regular clip.

    I use FCP 4.5.

Thanks everyone! Please let me know if I need to clarify anything.

I don’t think you can export menu’s as QT’s out of either of these programs. Only work-around I can think of is just burn the disk out of DSP and then rip it with MPEG Streamclip. Pretty sure you could capture the menu that way. BUT, might not look great depending on what resolution you are working at in FCP.

    can you???

maybe youll have to capture the output of your DVD player somehow,
via a capture card, or camera or deck, etc, etc
    OR
run the DV on your compute and use some screen-capture software.
    iSHowU is cheap & good.
